http://www.gigavelocity.com/blog/gigavelocity/gigavelocity-news/great-news-coming-soon-ccie-service-provider-v30-lab/#commentsFri, 10 Jun 2011 23:13:40 +0000gigavelocityhttp://www.gigavelocity.com/blog/?p=118Great News!
We received very positive feedback from our CCIE Service Provider v3.0 survey and we will be building a CCIE Service Provider lab to support the new SP v3.0 blueprint.
Our CCIE SP v3.0 lab will be based on the Cisco Learning Network CCIE SP v3.0 Sample lab and grow to support the full CCIE SP v3.0 lab topology.
The following is the equipment we will be using which will cover the core concepts, configuration and troubleshooting examples to help prepare for the lab. You will finally have access to an IOS-XR router in a lab environment.
Equipment and Technology List
2 - XR 12000 Routers. Long term 4 - XR 12000 Routers IOS-XR 3.9.1
7200 VXR Routers IOS-12.2-SRE
2 - Cisco ME3400 IOS-12.2SE
Remote Power Control (RPC) Frame Relay
It should take us about 30 days to get all of the equipment installed and tested. Please check back for updates.
Other vendors are working on technology workbooks and we hope to partner with them to support their workbook and provide the lab for their bootcamps and training material.
-Our commitment is to build the lab when we have received 75 responses from our survey.
-Our 3 hour session will be priced at $75.00.
-It should take less than one month to have the SP v3.0 lab completed once we start building.
-Previous CCIE SP candidates preparing for the SP v2.0 exam were very successful using our two SP racks.
-Please Contact Us and let us know:
1. How many hours you expect to book.
2. When you expect to take the SP Lab.

As you know there is some very expensive equipment on the SP v3.0 Equipment list.
Cisco Learning Network has recently released a CCIE SP v3.0 Sample lab that we would support if there is enough demand.

CCIE SP v3.0 Sample Lab
The equipment list on the SP v3.0 Sample Lab is slightly different from the official SP v3.0 blueprint but covers the core concepts, configuration and troubleshooting examples to help prepare for the lab.
2- XR 12000.
-We will be using GE and POS interfaces.
13 - Cisco 7200 VXR.
3 - Cisco ME3400E switches.
Other vendors are working on technology workbooks and we hope to partner with them to support their workbook and training material on our lab.
Our longterm goal is to provide the exact hardware that is on the SP v3.0 blueprint 4 - XR 12000 routers.
For us to build this lab we are looking for serious CCIE SP candidates that are committed to preparing for the CCIE SP lab and will pre-book a block of sessions.
-Our commitment is to build the lab when we have pre-booked 200 - 3 hour sessions.
-When we do build the lab you will use your pre-purchased gift certificate to book your sessions.
-It should take less than one month to have the SP v3.0 lab completed once we start building.
-Previous CCIE SP candidates preparing for the SP v2.0 exam were very successful using our two SP racks.
-PleaseĀ Contact Us and let us know:
1. How many hours you expect to book.

As you know there is some very expensive equipment as part of the lab, and Cisco is using emulators that the rest of us do not have access to.
We would not be able to support the 20 routers that Cisco is emulating, but we will be able to have the following equipment, which should be sufficient to cover all of the blueprint topics.
1- XR 12000 running 2 - SDR’s. The goal is to support 4 - SDR’s.
-We will be using GE and POS interfaces.
3 - Cisco 7200 VXR with NPE-G2 processors. The goal is to support 6 - 7200 VXR’s with NPE-G2.
4 - Cisco ME3400-24 switches.
Other vendors are working on technology workbooks and we hope to partner with them to support their workbook and training material.
At this time we are looking at $75.00 per session. Please understand that this is a very expensive lab to build.
Please Contact Us if you have any suggestions or comments to the topology or hardware.

We have just added two Cisco 4404 Wireless Controllers and a Cisco LWAPP AP to Rack 6.
The Wireless Controllers are in our CCIE Security rack to take advantage of the ACS 4.1 server for testing advanced authentication scenarios. The PC also has an Intel A/B/G radio and uses the Intel Proset client.

There are going to be a lot of changes like adding MPLS and VPN.
If you are ready, and lucky enough to have a lab date before October, now is the time to start studying!
We are planning on building another Internetwork Expert R/S lab and possibly an IPExpert v9.0 lab as well. Let us know if you have a preference.

Don’t worry, these will not be major changes, just removing some of the ATM and serial interfaces that are not part of the Internetwork Expert Security topology.
